The Thrilling Experience of Unveiling My First Love, a Digital Camera

It is not that I nourished the dream of scraping up my living from photography since my early childhood. But I had always a knack for shooting scenic beauty, hopping animals and of course different moods of human being. Time is always a fugitive and I always loved to freeze those evading moments to lend them a dimension of eternity. We have an analog camera and it is as old as the wills. My father got it from his father. It is one of his precious possessions in this materialistic world. It is reflective of many fond memories of his childhood and young age. I started learning photography with this. But, to keep up with technological advancements, we have stepped into the digital arena. It was just like vini, vidi and vici for the digital technology. It conquered the world with an array of fascinating items and made us spellbound.

Digital camera was very much in and I set my heart on getting one. I requested my father a lot but drew a blank. I was in my teens then and it was not the age of pouting my lips or whining. So, on being turned down, I just pulled a long face for several days. My father gave in and my imploring eyes won me the first digital camera in my life.

It was light in weight and unabashed to flaunt its shine. Slinging the camera on my back I loved to lend myself an air of photographer in front of my friends and savor the envy look in their eyes and on their sullen faces.

Using a digital camera was really an amazing and enthralling experience for me. There was almost a reservoir to store a great number of photos. It came with photo-editing features to improve several facets of the photos taken and it was really remarkable. Another feature that happened to be an astounding one was that I could glance over the shoot photos on the screen. If not aesthetically taken, there was an option to discard the photo. It was also kitted with an option of dumping the shoot photos on the hard disk of computer. I used to stroll around far and wide and used to capture the virtual image of many an engaging object in my camera. Even an apparently trivial item appeared in all its glory having a new and different look. With every passing day, I realized that my passion was going to be my profession.

My first digital camera is now in senile state. But I have not dumped it at the corner of my room. On the contrary, it occupies a place of pride among my collections of antiques, culled from all over the globe. I have over a dozen of digital cameras in my possession and many of them are over-the-top in price. However, the first one is still worth its weight in gold to me. I will be having a soft corner for my first love, the first digital camera of mine.
